Around the 12th-ish of June, my A/C stopped blowing cold air. I called out

a tech. Moved in here in December 2006 and new the system was already old at that time. Seems like we've had to call for a refrigerant charge at least every other year, more recently every year. We knew it was on its last legs. Even the furnace hasn't worked right the last two years. Well, this time, the tech put two pounds into the compressor and within 24 hours, it had blown out. The pressurized refrigerant found the leak and turned it into sieve. The system was dead. Luckily, the $466 I paid the tech for the blown out refrigerant service call is being credited towards the cost of a new system.

Here we are, almost four weeks later, and I just today was able to drop the $4,000 needed as a 50% deposit on our new system. We're getting the whole thing redone. Hopefully we can get onto the install schedule before too much more time passes, cuz this is miserable right now.
