I respectfully disagree.


For many more people in the stands, (including me) it's more than just a song. Why let a dozen players take that away.

Quick story. I was at the final game at Parker Field (before the Diamond). Everyone sang the anthem. It sounded almost solemn, given the occasion. It's a memory I'll never forget.

And yes, I got a piece of one of the tacky blue bleacher seats. Those things started being broken apart in the 7th inning. Not so solemn.
