Well, there is some good in what happen to you TomTurkey

It made me realize how much I do not miss NOVA even though I lived in Warrenton\Orlean in the boonies. I dealt with Dulles/access/495/95 for the first 17 years of my stay because I lived in the Reston\Herndon|Sterling area. Once in boonies, I still had to go to work via some of those the next 17 years.

I am no longer in the world of how long will it take to get there question. In NOVA, based on traffic and time of day, it will be Y minutes at time A or if you go at time B it will be 2xY minutes.

Now, I am back to 30 miles will take you about 30 minutes and if rush hour, then 33 minutes.
