That's not the case at all. You know what's more disrespectful?

People who cry "Ohhhh!" in the middle of the national anthem because they think it's funny. Or people who leave their flags out in the rain and overnight (Guilty). Or someone who wears the American flag around on a bikini. Or people waving a Confederate flag stating how 'American' they are? How about people cracking open a beer while in the stands while the anthem is playing? That's more disrespectful than someone kneeling AND PAYING ATTENTION during the National Anthem.

How about track athletes that win a race and have the flag draped over their shoulders, only for it to fall and they drag it around. Where's the outcry for these people?

Hell, even the guys in the background of this photo who have their arms crossed looking around, or picking at his ear, how is that any more respectful than Kaepernick's positioning? Because they are standing up? What about the camera people doing their jobs? They aren't standing at attention, listening to the anthem. They have guys talking in their ear as they pan the crowd for attractive women, kids or other people of interest during the song. Are they disrespecting the fine men and women who laid down their lives for this country?
