Same here. We lost a giant pine in a derecho thunderstorm 2 years ago...


...and it narrowly missed crushing the corner of our house by about 3 feet. The tree had a trunk with a ~24" diameter, and it snapped off about 12-15 feet above the ground. There are at least 10 other pines along my property line that could do the same, along with 4-5 other giant oaks, a forked ash, and several hickories. I do NOT want to be in my little ranch house if we get 75+ mph winds.

Do what you feel is best for you...but if your instinct tells you to leave - listen to it!
