Another joy of getting old. Eye floaters

Just experienced this. My eye surgeon said they will go away, for the most part, over time. Anyone else experienced this? How long did it take to improve? Im not the least bit patient and its driving me crazy. Since there is no better place than the lounge for solid medical advice.
