A. Coaching hires have been outstanding imo. I give as much as I can to SERTC to keep Frank, Jared, Tyler, Ty and now Devin and Jared in the mix.
B. Communication is outstanding. Even over the top. Emails. TSL posts. Phone calls. I loved KD but this is another level of interaction.
C. Losing Epp and Sully in back-to-back years was really tough. But our development and transfer focus has really shored up the lineup. Lots of depth that I don’t think we had a few years ago.
D. This recruiting class and the next will be interesting. Mekhi was a diamond in the rough but for those of us who saw him take DMF to the wall in wrestleoffs last yr it was apparent he was special. I think we have young dudes competing asap.
E. Totally different wrestling style than NCState. I know we’re not supposed to “hate” in the wrestling community but I can’t stand Coach Pop’s team style. Maybe I just really didn’t like Jack :) I like the more aggressive style under Robie. That translates to freestyle too I think.
F. Freestyle is awesome. Fills in the calendar gaps. Gives these guys more exposure. And we get a World Champ :)
