Hokie Pro Golf Preview - Week 41


The PGA tour starts a stretch of 3 Asian events this week. They are all limited field (78 golfer) events, so none of them have a cut. Scott Vincent is qualified for two of them off of his current Asian Tour placing. Because of the time change the TV coverage on Golf Channel starts about 11 pm Eastern from Wednesday-Saturday. This is also the time of year the beginning of the qualifying tournaments for the Web.com and European tour takes place. This week is the first to have a Hokie involved that I can find. Canada and Asia do their tournaments later in the year.

PGA/Asian (CIMB Classic, Kuala Lampur, Strength of Field 289, 48 1st place points)
LIMITED FIELD/NO CUT - 78 golfers
Vincent - #4 on Asian Tour

European Tour Qualifying (First Stage) - Hardelot, France
Van der Vaart - T9 after second of four rounds.
They haven't announced the cut off yet, but in previous sites it's been around 25th place.

Web.com Qualifying (First stage) - Kannapolis, NC
Weaver
Lane
Top 23 and Ties advance
