I'm not sure because I don't understand their protocols. The older people get the more at risk the colon tends to be through unhealthy living habits- smoking, drinking diet environmental pollutants.

As I said, its a personal choice, like everything else we do in life. I got scoped every 5 years since I was 40 due to one person in my extended family having serious issues with polyps (he died at a young age). Well, I'm not 40 anymore and I live a clean lifestyle, never smoked, don't drink anymore (quit about 10 years ago and never was anything but an occasional social drinker), try to eat a balanced diet. Good luck with your procedure. I know that you lead an active lifestyle so I'm sure you will do fine.
