Bermuda grass question.

Sod was installed in early spring of last year in my yard. It's not the greatest looking lawn in the world but I plan on getting it there.

There is definitely some crab grass and nutsedge(I think) infestation. I've treated the crab grass and have killed about 90% of that. It has just gotten cooler in Alabama.

Is it too early to treat with pre-emergent chemicals on the lawn? I'm concerned about any winter weeds showing up. Will it damage my lawn since it is not fully "established"?

I'd like to put some fertilizer down to help the bermuda out and I plan on putting down some additonal seed in the spring when it warms up.

Thoughts? Am I insane? I grew up in VA with no bermuda yard so bermuda is all new to me.
