My definition of Music Martyr

When an artist dies at or before their peak of creative production. As listeners, we’re left wondering what the might have brought the world.

Artists like Jerry Garcia don’t fit the “martyr” label in my opinion. Legend to be sure; not martyr.

John Lennon was a martyr. While he had a brilliant body of work and had deep lulls in his career, he had just released “Double Fantasy”, a stunning piece of art. What might he have produced if he had stayed with us?
