Repair or replace? 4 year old samsung flatscreen

Screen started showing vertical lines when turned on last night and there is a slight but distinct crackling/crinkling sound every so often. I also notice when i hit a button on remote that lines shift slightly in response. Screen is totally blank other then the lines. Cut my losses? Other brands? Been happy with all my samsung products to date but 4 years is not good.
