Not just that Alexandria is on the VRE and metro lines, but that the Amtrack from Roanoke to DC goes right through as well. This got me excited about the future even more because I feel like this almost guarantees the Amtrack line will be extended to Christiansburg with the proposed train station in Christiansburg being built sooner than later. This would really enhance the connection between the Blacksburg Campus and the Alexandria Campus. I would even propose a revolutionary rail car branded for Virginia tech that contains meeting rooms, and advanced tech to keep workflow happening, as well as enhance the rider experience between the two places. Whomever can make this happen, get them in touch with me, I want to throw ideas around. :-)
