Took me about 30 minutes to clean the ice off the car this morning. No ice on driveway or roads there. I left around 11. Stopped for gas at the Gucci Kroger and hit the road. Rain was heavy but roads were ok. I kept to the right lane most of the way going about 55-60. Temp on thermometer was 34-36 until a pocket of about 10 miles near Staunton, when it dropped to 29. I slowed with some other cars/trucks to about 45 through there and had no problem. There were idiots cars and trucks both whipping by. Maybe the cars you pictured were some that passed me. I did come across about 3-5 cars that were banged up and left on the side of the road with the yellow tape around them along the way, but I didn't personally see anyone slip or slide at all.

So I had to stop in Harrisonburg to pee and there was some traffic a couple of spots (kept moving) and I realized about Woodstock that I wasn't going to make it home in time for the Webex. I pulled off 66 at Linden and did my call from the car pool lot there. Took a 1.25 hours. Got back on the road at 5:15 and made it to the hourly parking at IAD by 5:55. Maybe the place that I was most nervous was 66 between Manassas and Rt 28. It was a driving rain, lots of traffic going 70 (WTH?!) and it was hard to see the lines painted on the road.
