YMMV, but when I bought my home theater many years ago, I brought home

three sets of speakers to try out side-by-side. I basically went to three different stores, told them what I wanted and what my budget was, then purchased their recommendation with the understanding that two of the three would get returned.

Infinity, Polk, and Paradigm (brand I'd never heard of at the time) were the competitors. Going into the exercise, I was leaning toward the Polk.

At that time and in my living room, the Paradigm's sounded better than Polk or Infinity, were smaller, and were cheaper.

Bottom line is everyone's ear is a bit different and you need to see what it sounds like in your house listening to your music/movies.
