I never joined, but I knew some guys at VT who did a basketball one, pre


internet age. They then used USA Today or whatever to track who won each game, but the cool part of their league was the draft itself.

They did it with a sort of salary cap and bidding. IE (and I have no idea if this number is right), if the salary cap in 1988 was $17 million a year, then you had $17 million to build your team. When they drafted, they'd take turns putting a player on the draft board, then everyone would bid on them. If you wanted to spend $15 of your $17 million on Michael Jordan and that's what it took to outbid everyone, then you could. But it would only leave you $2 million for the rest of your players in the bidding.
