Minnesotan’s are soft. They get a dry snow that stays snow until spring.

They only have to deal with the mess of slush and mud once in the spring. Southerners get a wet snow that melts turns to black ice, then slush and mud then it snows again & repeats all through the winter. It’s a mess.
