Yep. Also even the perimeter players aren’t “threatening the zone”


We often have 1-2 players as a release 10 feet behind the 3 pt line. This shouldn’t happen unless they need to help someone who’s trapped with the ball. What I mean is they’re not forcing that part of the zone to guard. Vs a zone, you have to be in “scoring position” where you’re a threat to score so you draw the nearest 1-2 defenders, preferably 2, by attacking the soft spots and pressing the gaps forcing the defense to make a decision to come guard you or leave their area of the zone they’re guarding.

Vs an even front (2 - 3) the offense should be 3-2 3 out probing the wing gaps and perhaps splitting the two top defenders

Vs an odd front (3-2) your O should be 2-1-2. We don’t do that AT ALL. No forcing the inside zone players to play anyone
