I've never been, but knew a guy at VT who was an instructor. The most


interesting thing he told me (it's obvious once you think about it), is that you only feel like you're falling for about 8 seconds. Then the air resistance becomes enough that you can't fall any faster (Terminal Velocity) and since gravity is no longer accelerating you downward, you have weight and no longer feel like you're falling. Of course, depending on how you move yourself, as seen in many movies, you can point yourself and accelerate again and so on.

For me, I hate roller coasters and that falling sensation. David pointed out that in skydiving, that sensation only lasts for 8 seconds or so.
