Couldn't recover quickly because she needed a walker to walk with fixed hip.....except her shoulder was also broken. Oh, and one leg was amputated years earlier below the knee. The broken knee. So she laid in traction for a while.

Dad bumped the hanging traction weight (no protection fence).

I thought he and I would pass out from the pain she must be going through. I had never felt worse for my dad. She never whined. (At her funeral later, even the preacher said she was a "tough ole bird").
