There was some talk a few years ago about some sort of Big XII affiliation.

like maybe having a combined tournament with "core" ACC and B12 teams. Obviously, nothing happened and that was before the Big XII added a bunch of schools for wrestling only to expand from four teams (OKST, OU, ISU, WVU) to twelve. They expanded by adding:

- Air Force
- Fresno State
- North Dakota State
- Northern Colorado
- Northern Iowa
- South Dakota State
- Utah Valley
- Wyoming

That's a huge geographic area (not great for duals).
I'm not sold that expanding like the Big XII did would be worth it, particularly if expansion diluted the talent pool significantly. They got some decent upper Midwest teams. If we could pick up teams like Missouri or Lehigh or Edinboro (if they recover), that might be good. But the schools closer to the ACC core would be a harder sell to me. I'm happy with the current quality of the ACC wrestling programs -- even Duke isn't too terrible.
