Big mis-statement shows common ignorance of VA mission

Says that health care in military is provided by Veteran's Administration - not so, the military has it's own medical system, doctors, dentists, hospitals, etc. for active duty members (and retired on a space-available basis). There is no broad entitlement for VA healthcare for veterans. VA health care is on a space-available basis with priorities for service connected injuries/disabilities.

As a 4-yr active duty and 3-yr reserve veteran without any service connected injuries or disabilities, the only VA healthcare I've ever gotten or expect to get was the one-year of dental care following discharge from active duty.

The entire public discussion about the VA health system is often confused about who is really entitled to VA health care. It was never intended to serve all veterans.
