Have you ever wondered why, in science fiction shows/movies,


when two space ships rendezvous at some point in the galaxy, they're always oriented the same way? There is no up or down in space... one craft could be oriented so the top of the vessel faces the center of the galaxy while the other could be oriented in whichever manner they left the orbit of the last planet they visited...

And that's another thing: why isn't "Standard orbit, Mr. Crusher" oriented so the top of the vessel looks down on the planet's surface? That's the current standard orbit, isn't it?

Nerdy stuff I think of when I'm trying not to lose all my marbles under the stress.... LOL
