Not surprised. I've experienced something similar

Have a feeling your knees and hips will quickly be back to normal once you remove the boot.

When I had my bout with PF, I added gel heel pads to my running shoes. Although it helped the pain in my heel, I started feeling knee and hip pain that I'd never had before. I removed the gel pads and the knee and hip pain disappeared. Guess that small tweak was just enough to change my running geometry.
