Bennett started his journey at UVa when he was 39...

Mike Young is starting his journey at Tech at age 55. It took Bennett 10 years to do this at age 49. Not saying CMY can’t do the same, but he could be 65 by the time that happens. Assuming both coaches coach until they’re 70, that gives Bennett 21 years to stamp his footprint on UVa basketball compared to 5 years for CMY to provide a similar stamp. CMY could be retired for 6 years while Bennett could still be coaching.

I like CMY as a hire, but it takes a long time to build a program. He’s a great fit, being a local guy who got his dream job. I feel like he can bring the same success to Tech basketball as Bill Foster or Charlie Moir did. And IMO, Moir and Foster > Greenberg and Brent. Yes... Brent brought us a Sweet 16, but I think Brent’s arrogance and “me” attitude knocks him down a notch below Moir and Foster.
