UNC is a very good team, but they are coached to
bend the rules IMO. Case in point, their baserunners regularly left the base before the pitch left our pitcher's hand, which is against the rules. And there is no deterrent not to if the umpires won't enforce it. Also, the one batter, who saw that the pitch caromed wildly off either the ground or our catcher's glove, tried to sell that she was HBP, and went to first. Luckily they corrected that one. It's like a HS in my area that has been extremely successful in baseball. One time against my HS they had bases loaded, and they tried a suicide squeeze. The bunt was put down, and they had their runner on 2nd base purposefully cut the corner at 3rd, not even touching it, and come all the way home as the throw went to 1st, knowing that the 2 man ump crew would be focusing their attention on home and first and not be looking at 3rd. I wouldn't want to win this way, but that's just me.
