Our kids didn’t play ice hockey. Heck, they’ve only ice skated a couple of times. When we lived on the eastern shore of MD and they were little, they did get opportunities to skate more. Spoke to my mother’s cousin yesterday. Her grandson, almost 9 now, is on an ice hockey team up in MD. He also just made the summer league traveling team. They compete at various sites from Norfolk to Philly. The parents are on the road all the time! And the cost is $$$$$$. Plus he’s attending a hockey skills camp in Minnesota this summer. He is a goalie and has played during breaks at the Caps games. Received Mite of the night honors! Lol. His nickname is “the wall”. He’s built like a prospective o-lineman already. And doctors project him to reach 6’6. The family is super proud but I’m secretly wishing he’d try football too
