That's me as well. VT was the first public University, and I think the 2nd


of any classification, to require PCs for incoming students. Yes, at that point, engineer's only, but still on the front edge.

I met one best friend in the van that took us to pick up our IBM "PC Portable". 40 lb machine called "portable' because it DID have an industrial strength handle on it. Complete with 9" amber monitor.
