Out of curiosity do you what Jeopardy! particularly whenever the show

is holding a tournament? I ask because the Finals typically takes place over 2 shows and the champion is crowned by taking the aggregate score for each of the 3 finalist for the 2 shows. Whomever earns the most money over the 2 shows is then crowned the champion.

FWIW the NCAA used to have two-legged championship game in ice hockey. If you watch arena football, then the AFL decided last year that the semi-final should be a two-legged series with the winners (based on aggregate or total points scored over the 2 games) advancing onto the Arena Bowl. NASCAR uses aggregate scoring (aka total points scoring) for the "Chase for the Cup." Although I think NASCAR may have tweaked the rules to place more emphasis on winning the race. The PGA uses aggregate scoring (aka total points scoring) to determine the winner of the FedEx Cup. Those are probably the only times Americans have come across something within the US that used aggregate scoring.
