I see Rivers starting over Kitley just based on experience...
Rivers is a rebounding machine. Maybe Kitley eases her way into the starting line-up. Mabrey has good court vision but doesn't have the quicks of Taja Cole. Cole was a McDonald's All-American coming out of high school. Mabrey wasn't consistent at PG, but she was a true freshman and that is the toughest position for a freshman to play. From the Roanoke Times article, Kenny will try Mabrey as an off-guard. She may be more comfortable playing there. With Cole, Sheppard, Mabrey, King, and the Brooks girls, we're good at the guard position. Even Ennis and Geiman can play guard if needed. As for the front court, Baptiste is penciled in as a starter as far as I'm concern. We'll have Kitley, Obouh-Fegue, and Rivers at power forward/center. I'd be surprised if Kenny has a center. He seems like he'd be happier with 2 power forwards who can run the court. Rivers is athletic enough to play back-up to Baptiste. Kenny has a lot of pieces that he can play with. I'm glad to see our program becoming more athletic. Maybe you're right that Kenny is done recruiting for the 2019-2020 team, but we could really use another forward to add depth since Asiah Jones will have to sit out the season. There are still a few dozen PF/SF out there who could play right away for us.
