How many times do I have to tell you, I never got into watching it. Still,

As I understand it, the person sitting in 3rd place absolutely could win. Let’s say 3rd place has 1,500 & the person in 1st & 2nd have 30,000 & 29,000 respectively. How much do the person in first & second bet? I’d say if you’re playing to win the game they each need to bet $29,000. Anything less & they risk being passed or not catching the other person. If they both bet 29,000 & both lose the final jeopardy the person in 3rd wins, if the 3rd place person bet $0 or bet any amount & got the final answer right.
What is wrong with that strategy?
