I've had cats since i was 5. I've never not had one.

I'm on cat #6.

My recommendation would be:

Don't get one. It's a gamble.

If you get the one that pees outside the litter box, it's hell. Once they do it once, they will do it forever and piss in random spots. Carpet ruined forever. Anything could set them off...change in litter, new kid born to the family, actual medical issue like crystals in the urine.

I'm over this.
