What words/phrases should you eliminate from your vocab?
A fellow teacher retweeted this. I spent time reading through the replies and just shook my head. Makes me think my time as a teacher is coming to an end if this is the direction we are headed.
"Words/phrases I’m removing from usage:
▪️Tribe
▪️Manpower (esp when referring to situations pertaining to men, women, and/or other)
▪️Bottom of the totem pole
▪️Too many chiefs & not enough Indians
▪️Crazy (when referring to a person or people)
Help me by adding more below. Thx!"
My response was going to be:
"Hey guys,
I know I'm the low man on the totem pole here but I'm not blind to the fact that all of you guys are insane. I dont want anyone to get gypped, so a good rule of thumb is to have a pow-wow and hear everyone out."
But I think maybe that would be frowned upon. But it's perfect for the Lounge!
