on old cars like this that need points whilst doing a tune-up you have to increase the RPM’s (rev) to make sure the gap on the points are set well. The car may run fine at idle but with increased RPM’s it may prove it needs more adjusting.

But I think most people rev the engine b/c they think it’s cool.

Not my thing.
