Speaking of strip club
First company I worked for out of college was small and privately held. So they didn't have the lengthy code of conduct standards public companies have.
One of the buyers was retiring. The company was fairly young, so he was the first ever retiree. The owners wanted to send him out with a bang.
The owners and a couple of key vendors took him out to dinner under the guise that was his big farewell. I think they even gave him a gold watch at dinner. As dinner wound down, they casually suggested heading to the hotel bar where the vendors were staying to grab a couple of drinks.
Meanwhile, the ballroom at the hotel was rented out and that was where the real retirement party was.
I need to mention this particular person was renowned for sexually harassing everyone. And I do mean everyone...he was as likely to call you Honey or Baby whether your were male or female. But for some reason, coming from him, it was cute and not creepy, and part of his charm that made him good at his job.
So I guess the retirement party was where they decided to sexually harass him back. The company hired a stripper to give him a lap dance in front of the rest of the company that night.
At the time, I'm maybe 23 years old and starting to question everything I thought I knew about professionalism in the workplace. Realized very quickly after leaving that company they were unusual and not the norm.
