These argument are always stupid....

….one, it isn't about transferring an adult professional athlete over to anther sport and having them succeed immediately. Adult soccer players couldn't just suit up in pads or pick up a basketball and dominate and vice versa on a soccer pitch. BUT...to say someone like say Michael Vick, couldn't have potentially been an incredible soccer player had he played from the time he was say 4-5 years old had had world class coaching is short sighted also. But the best "athletes" in the US haven't typically chosen soccer in the past, that's a fact. It doesn't mean all football or baseball players are A or B athletes and it doesn't mean all soccer players are C or D athletes.
