There are organizations that do this with feral cats...


They will come in, live cage capture them, take them to the vet to be spayed/neutered and then return them to where they were captured.

We had a bunch of feral cats in one of our warehouses where we stored machine jigs. (well, if you employees keep feeding them, they are going to stay...). Operators were complaining about feces/smell on the jigs. Was going to just call animal services who would capture and then the typical 7 days until... The folks that were feeding them rose a big stink and offered this as an option.

When the company found out the organization charged $75 per cat, Animal Services came in one night and the cats were gone.

Point is, not necessarily an ethical issue, more practical. Although this would leave a skunk relatively defenseless, but I can see both sides.
