It was a long trip, a little over 2 hours each way. We went through Galax and Independence ( started in Blacksburg ). The food was great. The fried chicken and country ham were some of the best I've had ( especially the chicken ). All the veggies were very good as well. After we were seated it seemed to take forever for a waitress to come by to take our order. We had somehow been overlooked and everyone in the place got their food before us even the folks that came in after us. We finally spoke to someone about it and they were very apologetic about everything. They gave us our lunch on the house and also packed us up a bunch of food to take home. All in all it was a good trip. If we go back again we might try going through Marion, somebody told me that was a better route. I drank a little of the spring water before we left, so I should live forever now :)
