What to do...Honda Civic key fob
I did it. I lost one of the two key fobs to our 2017 Honda Civic (the kind that starts by pushing the button as long as a fob is in the car. I was moving cars around in our driveway Saturday and put the fob in my pocket. Then I went about various chores and jobs. I recall taking it out and putting it down somewhere, perhaps on the bumper of my pickup. Later, I took the pickup to Blacksburg to pickup some furniture. The fob is nowhere to be found at home, so I suspect it's resting on a roadside somewhere in America.
So I priced the replacement today at my local Honda dealer. Apparently, they have no record that we bought our car there in 2017.
Shell: $33
Electronics: $77
Door Key: $13
Cut the Key: $7
Program the Fob: $52
$182 +tax
Question: Should I accept this generous offer or should I seek alternatives?
What are my options? Internet purchase/program it myself? Local Locksmith? Local Hardware store?
