In the kitchen letting our dog out the back door. Within a few seconds, we

had 70 mph wind, the dog jumped right back in the house, and Crazy Guy was yelling for us to get down to the basement. We had no idea what was happening. Strangely, our neighborhood usually loses power first, but it stayed on. The rest of the Roanoke Valley was dark. We had to drive about 15 miles to find a working gas pump.
