Here's the thing about top-level mens soccer ...


90% of the "flops" aren't actually flops. But the actors who flop on any contact poison the well for when there's actually legitimate contact.

If you're running full speed and get your heel clipped from behind, you're going down hard, ass over teakettle. If you have an unprotected area of your body stomped on by those cleats ... you're crying for mercy. And if you hit heads together while moving INTO the hit? Yeah, you're gonna feel it.

But since there are players who take advantage of that knowledge and try to fool the refs, part-time fans look at ALL the falls and determine that they're ALL faking it -- when only a select few are.
