Mt Kilimanjaro update: We finally heard from my daughter this morning, and


she successfully summited Mt Kilimanjaro yesterday morning! 😎👍🏻👍🏻

Earlier this past week, I posted about my daughter’s climb of Mt Kilimanjaro to bring awareness to and to raise funds for 2 schools (Mobjap and FAFU) in Kibera Slum in Nairobi, Kenya though a support/volunteer organization called Crossing Thresholds.

We received a series of texts from her earlier this morning when they arrived back at the hotel. Successful summit, 19,341ft - the final ascent from Barafu Camp, 15,331ft, took over 9hrs, starting at 1120p. About an hour at the top to enjoy the views and take some pictures. The way down to Mweka Camp, 10,065ft, took another 4hrs. 😱

Mom is relieved, having been checking the weather every 12 mins and watching Kilimanjaro YouTube videos all week. 😂👍🏻
