If it’s just going to be a basketball arena, you could probably keep the


cost in the $120 million or lower range. Right now Cassell has a lot of offices for coaches, administrative and support staff in addition to sports medicine, Olympic sports weight rooms, nutrition facilities and the like.

If Cassell is to be razed at some point, it will be necessary to replace all of those facilities in one or more buildings. The costs of demolition of Cassell and replacement of office and administrative facilities could be significant.

If a new basketball arena is built, Cassell would be great for use primarily as a volleyball and wrestling venue.
