That's what I don't understand. Why does it matter if the new line is

transferred from another carrier? The line is still new to Verizon. Does Verizon get a kickback for taking another line out of circulation? We're eating up phone numbers at such a rapid pace Virginia is going to be adding several area codes in the next few years to accommodate them all.
