Her father was dying from lung cancer. She wanted him to meet me, but he wanted to wait until he was better. I was at his farm all the time, spent time with the MIL, but he stayed to himself. I would take her to see him in the hospital, and all I was allowed to do is walk by the door with her and waive good bye quickly.

I was celebrating my birthday at the farm with MIL and her best friend. We had dinner downstairs and went out to get hammered. My wife insisted that it was time to meet and would he just do it.

We met before dinner and had a long long "who am I talked'. My dad went to Notre Dame and he was a big Notre Dame fan and was when Ismail played. I never asked him about his daughter and my future other than I would look after her. He died 7 weeks later, but he let his daughter know it was okay to marry me and he really hoped that I was the one.
