Question: Where is the "there" in "out there"? This is a widely used term.


If it is so prevalent, and refers to a cloud or internet location, it must be enormous because so many people put stuff into it. And once you've put something "out there", if you discover you sent the wrong thing or forgot to make a copy, can you have it sent back? Who would send it back? Where would it go, would it be "back in there"?
