My VMI teammate Ryan Glynn called up by Rangers to face O's way back when..

"Later" flight to Baltimore than would have liked, arrived at ballpark mid-game.
Uniform issued, quick warmup, called from bullpen.
First batter he faced was Cal Ripken, Jr.
Strike Out.
Cal signed the ball for him after the game.

Pretty cool story.
