Car question: I have a 2019 Ford Explorer with a transmission quirk....

I'm calling it a quirk because it's not really an issue, I think, but I'm not sure if it's something that won't cause an issue down the road.

When accelerating from a stop at normal acceleration, everything is fine, and it shifts into second smoothly. But when I'm doing a hard acceleration (like when pulling into the road in a short window and trying to get up to speed quickly), the transmission tends to go to very high RPMs (think 5500-ish) without upshifting. Most cars, if you slightly let off the gas, it will automatically upshift at that point, but this one does not do that for several seconds; it's like it gets stuck in first for a bit until I let it rev down. As a result, I have to be very careful about accelerating from a stop, lest I have to completely pull my foot off the gas for a few seconds to get it to upshift. As far as RPM goes, I'm not sure how high it will go in first; 5500-ish may not be the upper limit, but I'm rather unwilling to test it out.

This seems like a software problem to me. Any chance there has been or will be a fix for this? I guess it's worth getting looked at, but I really don't want to take it in for a few days if it's "working as intended".

Thoughts?
