I know we’re talking about what the cop claimed & I’ll repeat if cops are

Using a field test that doesn’t work they should stop using that field & if cops are claiming they are using a field test & aren’t then they should be reprimanded and or prosecuted.
Neither of us know the facts. I won’t presume to say I do.
