Any Denver experts here?
I'm looking into a 3 day weekend in Denver to take the misses for her 50th bday. We usually don't venture out of the city when we take trips (we just did 4 days in Austin). The plan is to do some day drinking at local breweries, and find some fun trendy restaurants (and watch the Hokies play on Saturday--assuming we can find somewhere showing the game at 10am MST, otherwise it's chromecast in the Hotel Room).
I'm trying to figure what part of the city to book a hotel. I keep reading Lower Downtown, Downtown and Cherry Creek. Cherry Creek looks really interesting, but most of the breweries I'd like to see appear to be more Downtown. But I'm assuming Lyft/Uber is probably a short jaunt. Typically we stay in Hilton properties, but the only one in Denver that looks interesting is the Curtis and they want 84k points for 1 night. I'll pay the $225 rate before I cash in that many points (Diamond Status). Once I started looking at $225/night rooms, a bunch of fun looking boutique hotels popped up.
Any suggestions?
